Capacity Coaching
Support that meets you where you are
and walks with you through what’s in the way.
At Quirkiatry, we offer a neurodivergent-affirming style of coaching that blends traditional reflection work with direct, in-the-moment support. It’s designed for people who have an idea of what they want, but keep hitting invisible barriers like executive dysfunction, emotional overwhelm, or inconsistent capacity.
We don’t just talk about your goals.
We help you move toward them, together.
What is Coaching?
Coaching is a collaborative process where you and I work together to create a life that fits your brain, not the other way around. It’s like having a thought partner who helps you untangle the noise, spot your strengths, and experiment with real-world strategies.
Unlike many traditional coaching models that rely only on asking questions, at Quirkiatry we use a direct support approach. That means we don’t just listen and reflect, we can also share tools, break tasks into smaller steps with you, model strategies in real time, and help create concrete systems during our sessions.
At the heart of this work is capacity building. Together we grow your ability to understand your needs, design strategies that actually fit your brain, and build habits, tools, and systems that make life more sustainable. Capacity building means that over time, you’re not just “getting through today,” you’re expanding what’s possible for your tomorrow.
It’s not about “fixing” you (because you’re not broken). It’s about uncovering the wisdom, creativity, and resilience you already carry, and building systems that make life feel a little lighter and more doable.

Coaching and therapy can complement each other beautifully, but they’re not the same.
Therapy often looks at the past, focusing on healing, processing trauma, and diagnosing or treating mental health conditions.
Quirkiatry Coaching is present and future-focused with hands-on support and capacity building. We co-create strategies, tools, and systems that strengthen your ability to navigate life over the long term.
Many of our clients work with both a therapist and a coach - therapy for deep rooted healing, coaching for forward momentum.
-
Most traditional coaching assumes consistency, clarity, and quick implementation. But neurodivergent folks often navigate life with fluctuating energy, complex emotional landscapes, and systems that weren’t built for them.
That’s why our approach blends coaching and direct support, creating a flexible, personalized container for real growth:
Capacity-building, not just mindset shifting
Exploration of barriers, not just “positive thinking”
Tools and experiments, not just advice
Shame-reduction, not self-judgment
Together, we uncover what’s getting in the way, whether it’s “shoulds,” self-criticism, perfectionism, rejection sensitivity, sensory needs not being met, or internal contradictions, and build strategies that actually fit your brain.
Our approach draws on the work of Richard Boyatzis, whose research on Positive Emotional Attractors (PEA) shows how focusing on strengths, dreams, and meaningful opportunities activates the brain’s creative and motivational networks.
In coaching, this looks like:
Naming your dreams and values, along with your struggles
Tapping into your resourcefulness, even when you feel stuck
Creating change through safety, creativity, and experimentation
We hold a core belief that each client is “Naturally Creative, Resourceful, and Whole (NCRW)” - you already have wisdom within you. Coaching simply offers the space, tools, and support to access it.
Grounded in the Science of Motivation & Change
Who It’s For
We work with teens (16+) and adults who are navigating life with a neurodivergent brain - ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, chronic illness, or just the feeling of “why is this so much harder for me than it seems for everyone else?”
You might be:
Struggling with executive function (time, tasks, organization, motivation)
Feeling stuck in shame or self-criticism
Wanting to unmask and show up authentically
Juggling school, work, relationships, and self-care
Seeking strategies that actually work with your brain
If you’ve ever thought, “I know what I want to do, but I just can’t seem to do it” - coaching with direct support that focuses on capacity building may be a great fit.
What Sessions Might Include:
Body doubling or task initiation support
Building self-compassion and reducing shame
Co-strategizing around executive function or emotional overwhelm
Identifying barriers and building workarounds or accommodations
Reflecting on patterns, values, and identity
Creating sustainable systems that feel good, not punishing
Whether we’re mapping out a big decision or co-working through an “impossible” email, the work is collaborative, flexible, and built with your nervous system in mind.

Hi, I’m Hannah, a Neuro-affirming Capacity Coach, late-diagnosed neurodivergent human and lifelong experimenter in how to make life work for my brain, not against it. I help others do the same by creating a safe, judgment-free space to unmask, explore, and find what actually works for them. Some days we laugh, some days we untangle the hard stuff, and every day we practice compassion, authenticity, and a bit of creative mess.
